Our Tutors are a hard-working group of professionals, many having come up through the ranks of the Next Generation Youth Theatre themselves.
Gary Jones - Artistic Director
Gary is the Artistic Director and driving force behind all that goes on at Next Generation. He teaches all of our Saturday Musical Theatre classes, and has choreographed countless MAODS shows over the years. A long-standing part of the MAODS family and a former Next Gen member himself, Gary has a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts, a BTEC Higher Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre, and an A Level in Dance. Gary trained at Liverpool Theatre School and graduated in 2004. He has worked as a dance teacher for Manchester College (Sheena Simon) and is currently a Teaching Assistant at St John's Primary School.
Michael McCaw - Drama Tutor
Michael has worked in Amateur Theatre for over 20 years and with many societies across the North West. He is responsible for setting up a successful youth theatre in the Warrington area, working with over 500 children aged 8 - 16, developing performance technique and confidence within the group, as well as communication skills and teamwork. Michael holds a degree in childcare and education and has worked in schools across the Manchester area with children aged 3 -17. He is fluent in sign language and has experience supporting children with varying degrees of hearing impairment.
Katherine Farrow - Drama Tutor
A former member of our Advanced class and a person who has worked her way up through Next Generation, Katherine has attended college for acting/singing and dance and sings professionally. She has appeared in our productions since she was a small child! Katherine is now a tutor for our Monday night Drama classes.
Abey Bradbury - Drama Tutor
Abey was a very active member of both Next Gen and MAODS, doing Musical Theatre and Drama, and appearing in many a Mossley show! She then moved to London to train with Fourth Monkey Theatre Company, before moving back up north. She now works as an actor and director, and runs a professional theatre company in Manchester (Cream-Faced Loons). Abey is delighted she can come back to work with Next Generation, which is her second home!
Lucy Fullman - Drama Tutor
Lucy has been involved with amateur theatre since the age of 7. Early experiences were of course in performing in pantomimes and musicals, but with age and experience came a love of working on the production side of things. She helped set up and run a successful youth theatre group, working with young people aged 7-18, helping them improve their performance skills and, most importantly, build confidence. After having children of her own, Lucy spent 6 years living in the Canary Islands with her family. She returned to the UK in 2013 and eased herself back into am-dram life by choreographing a major musical! She is now very happy to be teaching Drama at Next Generation on a Friday night, along with her partner in crime Michael.
Linda is Next Gen's registrar and secretary. She’s always to be found collecting monies, chaperoning the children, providing a friendly face at many of the classes and even helping in our new kitchen!
A long-standing member of our governing committee, Tricia assists our tutors and works behind the scenes to help manage Next Generation.
