ACT Award Success

On the evening of Saturday 18th November, members of MAODS attended the ACT Spotlight Awards, where we were nominated for a number of accolades. In true Mossley style, we did not come away empty handed!

We were delighted to win ‘Most Creative Drama Production’ for our 2016 play, The Railway Children, and ‘Most Accomplished Ensemble Performance’ for last year’s musical, Grease- both of which were hugely ambitious and successful shows.

At the end of the night, though, we were all taken completely by surprise when we were awarded the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Theatre’ certificate for our April 2017 musical production, Parade. Before presenting the award, ACT’s John Flay said ‘Every now and again a production comes along that goes completely off the scale.’ He went on to explain that this award is rarely given out and will probably not be presented again for a long time to come. We were so honoured to receive this recognition!

Well done to all the cast and crew involved in these shows, and congratulations to all the other societies who received awards on the night.

As always, a huge thank you goes to our fantastic audiences and supporters for all your applause and encouragement. Here’s to another successful season in 2018!
