More Awards for MAODS- NODA and MMAs

Awards season is officially underway and the awards for our 2017-18 programme keep coming in thick and fast! In May, we attended the NODA awards and won the following:

Best Supporting Female in a Youth Drama: Christy Mather, Reverend Hale The Crucible (Next Gen)

Best Leading Male in a Musical: Sam Maurice, Leo Frank Parade

NODA Councillors Special Achievement Award: John Buckley (our very own design and set building extraordinaire!)

Then, on Saturday 16th June, we enjoyed a fantastic evening at the Manchester Musical Awards in the Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel. We had been nominated for a number of accolades, and we were delighted to come home with:

Best Supporting Actress, Laura Meredith Hoyle Gypsy

Best All Rounder, Alison Foy-Thackwell In the Heights

Best Ensemble Piece, 96000 In the Heights

Best Technical Acheivement for the In the Heights set

We would like to say a huge well-done to everyone involved in these shows and, of course, to the award winners. We’re very proud of our productions and the strong cast and creative teams behind everything we do- we couldn’t do it without you all!

We’re very much looking forward to our upcoming season, beginning with our series of Brass Band concerts in September 2018. If you would like to be involved in any of our productions – be that on stage or as part of our technical or front-of-house crew, don’t hesitate to get in touch. We’re always on the look-out for volunteers to ensure the smooth running of our productions and any help you can offer would be much appreciated!
