MAODS Sweeps the Board with Parade!

On Saturday 8th July, members of MAODS went along to the Last Drop Hotel in Bolton for the annual Greater Manchester Drama Federation Awards. We were thrilled to have been nominated for 16 awards in various categories for our 2016/17 productions of The Railway Children, Grease and Parade.

As always, GMDF were fantastic hosts, and a great evening was had by all. To top it off, our April 2017 production of Parade swept the board and won a staggering 9 awards! They were:

Best Director: James Schofield
Best Musical Director: Paul Firth
Best Actor: Sam Maurice (Leo Frank)
Best Actress: Sophie Lord (Lucille Frank)
Best Supporting Actor: Fola Olakunbi (Jim Conley)
Best Supporting Actress: Sara Melo (Minola McKnight)
Best Youth Performance: Mason Thomas (Frankie Epps)
Best Technical
Best Musical

We’re so proud of this amazing show and would like to once again thank everyone involved in making it so special, including our fantastic audiences, who took a chance on this little-known musical and gave us standing ovations after every performance.

A huge well done to everyone involved in all the other MAODS productions that were nominated too- what a fantastic season it’s been!
