Parade Set Model Revealed!
If you’ve ever been to a MAODS show before, chances are you’ve been wowed by what you see on the stage, but did you know we design and build the sets for all our shows in-house? We’re very lucky to have a fantastic purpose-built workshop at our Mossley studio, and a willing and dedicated group of stage staff working hard to build the scenery that brings every production to life.
For each show we do, our team produce a scale-model of the set first, to guide them as they build the real thing and to give the production team and cast members an idea of what they’ll be working with. The model for our April production of Parade has now been revealed, and as you can see from the picture above, it’s another example of a stunning MAODS set. In line with the director’s vision it’s simple but very effective, and will be coupled with clever lighting design to create a stunning visual on stage. Steps will descend from this set to the floor of the auditorium to create a thrust stage, allowing for the action to take place on two levels throughout the show. Audiences will sit around 3 sides of the stage, so that the show can be seen from every angle, creating a truly immersive experience. To find out more about the show and book tickets, click here.
We often celebrate our successes on stage, but we know the fantastic productions we produce would not be possible without the hard work that goes on behind the scenes at MAODS. Thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers who work tirelessly to provide the set design and technical support that make our stand-out productions possible.
We’re always on the look out for volunteers to come along and get involved with the work that goes on behind the scenes, so if you’d like to come and see what it’s all about, please get in touch, we’d love to welcome you!
